The Brick presents
Bubble Schmeisis
by Nick Cassenbaum
at The Brick Theater — 579 Metropolitan Ave
March 20-29, 2025
Running Time: 70 Minutes
Writer and street performer Nick Cassenbaum invites you to step into the warmth of the Canning Town Schvitz–East London’s last authentic bath house, and the backdrop of his beloved and critically-acclaimed play, Bubble Schmeisis.
Nick Cassenbaum is a UK-based theater-maker who has spent the past 10 years touring the world in his bathrobe, from London’s biggest theatres, to community centers in rural England, to an actual shvitz in Detroit, and beyond. After over 100 performances, Bubble Schmeisis is ready to bring the shvitz to Brooklyn!
Amongst the steam, live klezmer, and bathhouse rituals, Nick will take you on a journey to find the place he belongs. Follow Nick as he shleps his way through summer camps, barber shops, and Spurs football (er… soccer) games.
Bubble Schmeisis is a wildly entertaining play, full of intimate and personal true stories about identity, home, and getting schmeised (washed) by old men.
